The sound is a little too low, but this video is just too good to pass on. Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, Johnny Marr of the Smiths/Modest Mouse and Phil and Ed of Radiohead play Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees” and “Bodysnatchers” at 7 Worlds Collide. If ever there was an all star lineup in the past [...]

This will be everywhere soon, but too good to not give it some space here. Thanks to You Ain’t No Picasso for the heads up. “Jeff Tweedy of Wilco, Johnny Marr of the Smiths/Modest Mouse and Phil and Ed of Radiohead play Radiohead’s “Fake Plastic Trees” and “Bodysnatchers” at 7 Worlds Collide.”

Radiohead News: Video: Neil Finn and Friends [ft. Radiohead members, Jeff Tweedy, Johnny Marr]: "Fake Plastic Trees" (live Radiohead cover)
XL Recordings —
7 Worlds Collide was the title of former Crowded House/Split Enz singer/songwriter Neil Finn's 2001 live album. I bet you could count more worlds colliding than that if you added up all the bands represented in this tender Radiohead cover from the live shows promoting Finn's forthcoming 7 Worlds Collide follow-up, with proceeds going to Oxfam International. It's a trip hearing Wilco's Jeff Tweedy sing The Bends classic "Fake Plastic Trees" (BTW, Jeff, everybody knows it's "if I could be who you wanted," not "what you wanted", but I'm not gonna quibble with ya), ...

Now here's a supergroup we would love to see perform regularly. During a recent concert in New Zealand in support of former Crowded House singer-songwriter Neil Finn's cameo-packed new album, Wilco frontman Jeff Tweedy led an all-star backing band -- including Radiohead's Ed O'Brien and Phil Selway, Wilco bassist John Stirratt, legendary Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr, and Neil's son Liam -- in a rocking rendition of Radiohead classic "Fake Plastic Trees."
Check out video of the performance below. Admittedly, the quality isn't exactly in top form, but seeing these musicians together in any form is rare!

Everyone Has A Blog. Even Spencer Tweedy
Sonic Itch Music —
For those of you who might not know who Spencer Tweedy is, you surely know his pops, Jeff. Being the son of one of this generations greatest songwriters and performers has to be..kinda cool. As the apple stays close to the tree, Spencer has been involved in making music since he was a wee one. Playing drums in his own band, and most recently on stage with dad’s outfit Wilco, he’s no stranger to the world of making music. Now at the mature age of 13, Spencer has his own blog, and at first, I didn’t think to take it too seriously, but the kid is pretty entertaining. Simple titled “Spencer Tweedy’s Blog”. Reading his ...

YouTubeOh what a rolodex Neil Finn must have. In 2001, the former Split Enz and current Crowded House singer assembled a host of talent including Johnny Marr, Radiohead’s Ed O’Brien and Philip Selway and Pearl Jam’s Eddie Vedder for a collaborative project and concert dubbed 7 Worlds Collide, which would spawn a live album and DVD.
Seven years later, Finn would again gather together a stellar lineup including many of the same players and some new ones, including much of Wilco, for a studio album of all-new songs released as The Sun Came Out in August and a set of ...
