Rather than do a double-album, Felix and Simon culled a mass of early "soundscapes" from the Scars sessions for the stand-alone Zephyr EP. They unveiled it on BBC 1, and you can hear it at basementjaxx.net . EP's due out in 2010.

Listen to Basement Jaxx's New "Soundscape" EP
Pitchfork: Latest News — Photo by Jamie Beeden In a recent interview for our 5-10-15-20 series, Basement Jaxx's Simon Ratcliffe told us about a new EP he was working on with Jaxx conspirator Felix Buxton. "It's music to listen to at home and just kind of close your eyes to," he said of the uncharacteristically downbeat release. And now you can check out the self-described "soundscape," called Zephyr, over at the duo's site right now. (via Stereogum.)
