Morrissey Ejects Fan From German Gig After F-Word Rant

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News He's already collapsed onstage in Swindon, walked out of a Liverpool show after only two songs after being hit on the head with a bottle and now Morrissey has had a fan thrown out of his show in Hamburg. The singer's highly eventful European tour hit the German city on Nov. 17 for a gig at the CCH1 venue, and during the show a heckler was ejected at Morrissey's request. The aftermath of the incident was captured by a fan-shot video and uploaded to YouTube alongside a description of the clip which suggests that the incident was the result of comments Morrissey had made.

Morrissey's Liverpool Show Won't be Rescheduled

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , UK Morrissey 's Liverpool Echo Arena show will now not be rescheduled, organisers have confirmed. The singer walked off stage at the venue only two songs into his headlining set on Nov. 7 after a drink, thrown from the crowd, hit him on the side of the head. It was initially hoped that the date would be rescheduled in the near future but show promoters have now said that they are "unable" to do so. In a statement they said, "The event organisers have been unable to reschedule the Morrissey concert. As previously notified, refunds will be available to all customers who purchased tickets from authorised outlets. Where possible customers will be notified directly by email."

Baby Bird Make London Live Comeback Without Johnny Depp

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , UK Baby Bird played a comeback gig in London on Thursday night (Nov. 12) -- without a rumoured appearance from Hollywood actor and longtime fan Johnny Depp (pictured). The band -- who split in 2000 -- reformed to record a new album, 'Ex Maniac', this year, with Depp playing guitar on the record and directing the video to the band's comeback single as well. Rumours that the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' star would play with the band had been circulating for weeks, but in the end the Hoxton Bar & Grill show went ahead without any Depp cameo. Singer Stephen Jones, a frontman noted for his black humorous onstage banter, seemed to take delight in Depp's no-show. According to the NME , he baited photographers who were waiting for the film star to appear.

Morrissey to Choose Favourite Songs on 'Desert Island Discs'

Filed under: News , UK Indie icon and national treasure Morrissey is to appear on the legendary BBC Radio 4 programme Desert Island Discs. The show, hosted by Kirsty Young, was created in 1942 and, according to the Guinness Book of Records, is the longest-running show in the history of radio. On it guests chosen from across the cultural landscape are invited to select eight songs that they would want to have with them if stranded on a desert island. They also get to choose one book and one other luxury item. Morrissey will join a list of guests that in 2009 have included TV talent judge Piers Morgan, singer Barry Manilow , talk show host Jerry Springer and former Chancellor of the Exchequer Lord Healey. The Radio 4 website reads: "Morrissey talks to presenter Kirsty Young about his life career and how he would cope on BBC Radio 4's mythical desert island."
