Paramore and Weezer to Headline The Bamboozle in May 2010

Photo: Gershoff/WireImage(Paramore), Loccisano /Getty(Weezer) Paramore and Weezer have been recruited to headline The Bamboozle music festival, taking place May 1st and 2nd at the Meadowlands Sports Complex in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Paramore played at the first Bamboozle in 2005 as well as the following three years. The Brand New Eyes group also headlined the festival’s West Coast counterpart, Bamboozle Left (now called Bamboozle California), in 2008. As for Weezer, it’s the first time the Raditude act has played a Bamboozle on either coast. The pre-sale for The Bamboozle 2010 starts this Friday, December 4th at 3pm over at the fest’s official website . Dozens more artists will be announced in the coming weeks. The headliners for Bamboozle California, which will take place in Annaheim on March 28th and 29th, have yet to be announced. Fall Out Boy, Anthrax members form The Damned Things

Supergroup-itis might soon be setting in. The newest bunch (of sorts) is comprised of members of Fall Out Boy, Anthrax and Every Time I Die and they're calling themselves The Damned Things. This band has apparently been in the works for some time - Fall Out Boy guitarist Joe Trohman hinted at a more metal-oriented side project when MusicRadar spoke with him last year . But now that Fall Out Boy are on an indefinite hiatus , Trohman, along with FOB drummer Andy Hurley, Anthrax guitarists Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano, and Every Time I Die vocalist Keith Buckley and bassist David Karon look like they're ready to pull the trigger and put the pedal to the metal (pun fully intended). Fall Out Boy, Anthrax Members Unite in The Damned Things

There’s another new supergroup of sorts on the horizon: two members of Fall Out Boy are using their time away from the band to provide riffs and beats for a new heavy metal side project called the Damned Things. FOB guitarist Joe Trohman and drummer Andy Hurley have teamed with Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Rob Caggiano, Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley and bassist David Karon in the new band, which Ian describes to Rock Sound as “Kyuss meeting Thin Lizzy.” According to Rock Sound, the Damned Things have already written and demoed 15 songs with the hope of entering the studio in December. “It’s super fun and it’s something that we do totally take seriously because we love the music we’ve created,” Ian said, describing new song “A Great Reckoning” as worthy of “any Thin Lizzy record.” The band’s roots can be traced back to at least October 2008, when the Damned Things’ MySpace page was created.
